They studied restudied and pondered
Then postulated in prose
They offered recommendations
That only pertained to those
The poor poor rabble and scrabble
They offered naught of their kind
The high and lofty elitist
That wander round practically blind
The poetry of Beto Ochoa, Prose from a spiritual warrior

I just saw Eastwood's Flags of Our Fathers last night, and this morning read his blatant self-critique that is was meant to "prove" the futility of war.
The movie proved that the press is the enemy within. The movie did not prove the futility of war. It proved the cruelty from those who stay safe at home. The real futility of war is when the comfortable masses dishonor the sacrifices that we KNOW our military men and women make on our behalf.
As a teacher, when one student appreciates my efforts I take comfort to survive or transcend the frustration that so many lazy students and parents impart.
So, I hope that our simple, honest gratitude to our fighting men and women helps them to avoid the destructive, huge morale black hole that the comfortable masses present.
"Hero" has many historical interpretations. Saboteur has one.
